Rocky Mountain HBOT Dinners
Each Tuesday, there is a dinner party on Fireside Street with a unique group of guests. Arms loaded with Crock-Pots, Tupperware containers and trays of food, members of the Broomfield American Legion Auxiliary Unit 58 each week bring meals to the residence home of the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injuries in Louisville.
The residents, who are veterans, stay at the home for about a month while getting hyperbaric oxygen therapy for traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder or other injuries.
Tomomi Kopcinski, one of the organizers, said Unit 58 members wanted to give back to the veterans and active service members who travel far from home to receive treatment. Every Tuesday, Auxiliary Unit 58 cooks dinner for veterans staying at the HBOT house. These veterans are undergoing treatment at the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy program "Healing Our Heroes". Unit 58 also brings treats to them on Fridays.
